Re casting of the Districts

Dunedin, Oct. 13.
The Star 3 iys : —Consequent on the police changes coming into force on the first, the Colony will be divided into eleven police districts, each in charge of an officer. In the South Island there will be six districts, namely—three in Otago ; two in Canterbury ; and one in Westland. Weldon gets charge of Dunedin, extendfrom the Lawrence to Oamaru ; Hickson takes the Otago goldfields; Thompson gets Southland ; Broham takes charge of Central Canterbury ; Moore, of Laurance, taking Timaru and Ashburton.
