HEAVY OATS FOR SEED.
To the Editor. Sir, —I wish to draw the attention of the farmers, through your paper, to the necessity of sowing the proper description of oats for the English market, as no doubt in time to come it will be the only reliable one for oats as well as wheat. From account sales just to hand there is a difference of from 10a. to lls. per quarter between heavy milling and Danish or Tartarian feed, and as the expenses are nearly the same I would advise farmers to sow only the heavy sorts. A parcel of very heavy bright milling grown by Mr. Croy, Longbeach, realised the extreme price of 395. per quarter of eight bushels, whilst inferior grades grown in the same district realised from 28s. upward.—l am, &c., Joseph Clark.
