LATEST FROM EUROPE. {Per Reuter's Agency.) London, Sept. 27. Viscount Moultmorreo has been shot dead in his carriage at Donburn. Meetings have been held at Kilrush and New Ross, in Ireland, at which Mr. Parnell declared that the only solution of the Irish question was the ownership of the land, and urged a complete organisation in that direction. The stock markets are depressed owing to political uneasiness. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, 465. New Zealand securities have advanced by £d to Id. per cent, on last quotations. To-day’s prices are as follow :—5 per cent. 10.40 loan, 1041.; 5 per cent., 1889 loan, 102 ; 4£ per cent. 1879-1904 loan, 97£. A further examination of the wool sales just closed shows that New South Wales fleece and New Zealand greasy closed at from -|d. told, higher than at the close of last sales. Trickett goes out practising daily in his new boat, and Hanlan is practising in a boat which he brought from America. The cricket match Australians versus Players of England commenced to-day on the Crystal Palace Ground. There was a very large attendance of the public, and the weather was fine throughout the clay. The Players went in first, but were unable to make any stand against their opponents, who disposed of them for 90 runs. Palmer and Boyle bowled splendidly, the former .taking five and the latter four wickets. The fielding also of thel visitors was excellent, and was much admired. The wicket was rather bumpy, and favored the bowling. The Australians went in for their first innings, and when the stumps were drawn for the day had scored 71 runs for three wickets down. Murdoch was caught and bowled for 36. Spofforth was again absent from the Australian team. The mails via San Francisco, which left Auckland on August 17th, were delivered in London to-day. Sept. 28. Mr. Billon made a speech at Skibbereen, Ireland, in which he urged complete organisation, but not to in any way attack landlords. It is announced that the French Government. has instructed the commanders of French vessels forming part of the combined squadron to abstain from taking part with the squadron in any act of coercion towards Turkey. St. Peteesbukg, Sept. 28. _ It is rumored that there is a Nihilist plot to destroy the Czar’s steamer Livadia, built at Glasgow. Constantinople, Sept. 28. The Porte has asked Montenegro to delay the steps it proposed to take to obtain possession of Dulcigno as the Turkish Government is not yet ready to inforce the cession. The Turkish commander has notified to the Montenegrins that if their troops cross the frontier into Albania the step will be deemed a causus belli. Vienna, Sept. 27. . , The sailing of the combined fleet from Itagusa has been postponed till Wednesday. ; .
