PARLIAMENTARY NOTES.

(By Telegraph from our oivn Correspondent.) Wellington, Aug. 27. Most of the members are determined to leave to-morrow evening. There has been a number of Bills passed this week, but far more have been sacrificed. The refusal of the House to grant the 6d. beer duty was the main defeat that the Government has suffered. Their proposals to employ agents in London to get the stock inscribed were accepted this evening without a division, but it is generally understood ,that the Government were by no means anxious to carry them. All trust in Sir Julius Vogel is disappearing from

all parlies. No one can guess what the House will do in one last day, but it is hardly possible that the indispensable work can be finished to-morrow night, and a quorum must stay till next week. It is expected that the Supplementary Estimates will occupy the House till near daylight to-morrow morning.
