Was patented and introduced four years ago in Victoria, New South' Wales, Queensland, and New Zealand ; and the principal claim set fourth was itsbeingmade Oval to prevent fraud. Yet, in the face of these patents, firms—many of respecaltry standing—have, for the sake of a paltry commission, lent themselves to the introduction of various spurious imitations, which render them liable to actions at law, and annoyance and disappointment to the users. We would point out to intending purchasers that any person erecting Oval Wire Fences, other than the Patent Oval Samson, renders himself liable for damages. The Patent Acts on this point are very explicit; therefore, after this notice no excuse can be made. Wehave had instances brought under our notice where seme persons have been so unprincipled as to mix the Spurious Oval Wire amongst the Patent Oval Samson in order to make a sale, and damage the the reputation of the genuine article. We have a great aversion to take,, legal proceedings in this matter, but shall be compelled to, in self-defence, unless these practices are at once stopped.
