“THOSE CHURCH-GOING BELLS."
To the Editor.
Sir, — I like to hear the sound of the “church-going bells” on the Sabbath morning and evening calling the citizens to public worship, but I like them to be punctual. I trust the bell-ringer will take the hint and ring out the first peal for the future at 10.30 a.m. punctually, and not at 10.88 as last Sabbath morning. This sort of thing has occurred more than once. It is somewhat provoking, after waiting for the bells to commence, thinking you have half-an-hour to get to church and yourself and family comfortably seated, to find on arrival there that the service has commenced. —I am, &c., Church-Goer.
