MOUNT SOMERS ASSESSMENT COURT.
A sitting of the above Court was held at the Road Board Office, Mount Somers, on Monday, July 5, 1880, before Mr. F. Guinness, Judge. The following objections were considered :—John Carter, reduced from 2s. 6d. to 2a. per acre ; J. R. C. C. Graham, 20,000 acres leasehold, reduced from 4d. to , 3d. per acre; Messrs. Gould and Cameron, improved freehold land, reduced from 3s. 6d. to 2s. per acre. In the following cases the valuation was upheld: Frederick Tooth, John R. Campbell, Francis Pol hill, A. E. Peache, J. E. Taylor, E. and S. Saunders. The name of W. D. Wood was struck out, and that of James Shand substituted. The name of W. Jameson was struck out, and the word “ owner” substituted. Mr. Guinness expressed his satisfaction at the careful manner in which the valuation roll had been compiled, and the Court rose.
