Rees, of Napier, will stand for the seat for Waitaki, vacated by Mr. Hislop, who has just announced his esignatipn. ] Convbrtsd.— -Government have received advices from London that L 1,100,000 of the L 5,000,000 loan has been converted into 4 per cent, inscribed stock, under the Consolidated Stock Act, 1877.
