THE Ashburton County Council intending at the next Session of the General Assembly TO APPLY for BORROWING POWERS, to enable it to provide a WATER SUPPLY for the plains between the Rakaia and Ashburton rivers, notice is hereby given, that the following list contains the numbers of all the sections which are within the boundaries of the district now proposed to be brought within the operation of the Act. The Council will be willing as far as practicable to include any other land, on application by the owner or occupier being made to it for that purpose. The Council calls the attention of the settlers on the Acton Run and in the Seafield district to the fact that their land is not included within the district above alluded to, but the Council will attend the plan should application to that fbffect be made by a sufficient majority of the settlers in those districts.
