Liverpool papers print the story of one William Mayor, a respectable citizen, who passed several years in penal servitude for burglary and an attempt to murder, of which he has been proved to be entirely guiltless. Soleillet, a French explorer, is travelling through Africa in a remarkably primitive fashion. His sole means of transport is a mule, of great docility, and his only escort is a man servant.
