Japanese Trade with Australia.

The Japanese appear to be seriously turning their attention to the prospect of deriving wealth from trade with Australia. It is stated that the proposal to establish woollen mills in Japan was suggested by the idea of utilising Australian wool. The Government is encouraging the idea by pending samples of Japanese productions to’ the Sydney exhibition, and providing a free return passage for intending exhibitors. The writer‘to the “ Choya Shimbun” considers the efforts to establish a trade in rice and other food stuffs in competition with Annan and other rice exporting countries, and in articles for daily use rather than in costly and luxurious objects, will be most likely to be successful.
