It is believed that England and Russia are effecting an understanding regarding Afghanistan and Central Asia. Midhat Pasha informed Sir A. H. News from Afghanistan states that the Ghilzais, and other hostile Afghans, attempted to break the British communication, attacking the Ali Keye fortress, but were repulsed with heavy loss.
