DOMESTIC INTELLIGENCE.

New Wharf.—The Messrs. AbelV crombie's have leased from the Government the water frontage reserve, at the bottom of Albeit Street, aud adjoining Smale's Point, for the term of twenty one years, on which they a e about to erect a Public Wharf and landing place, where our trading and other vessels can lay along side and discharge their cargoes, which we are sure will be a great acquisition to Captains and others, who are in the habit of landing goods. We record this fact with pleasure as a suitable landing place has been much wanted in Auckland. This undertaking will give employment to about thirty men for the next six months, and for which Messrs. Abercrombie deserve the public thanks as they have already spent a deal of money in the couutry in ship building, mining, the introduction of fine herds of cattle, &c, with very little profit to themselves.

M A r ri age.—On Wednesday Evening, October 23id, at the Wesleyan Chapel, Mr. W. Hughes, late of Emevale, County Monaghan, Ireland, to Miss Hannah Joyce, late of London, both now tesiding in the neighbourhood of Auckland. Birth.—On Saturday last, at her residence. Lower Albert Street, Mrs. A. Jones, of a daughter.

Death.—On Sunday, October 27th, at his residence, Kororarika, Mr, Ewen McLennan, aged 28 years. Mr. McLennan was much (and deservedly) respected by all who knew him.
