Be it kiiowu unto all nations and kingdoms, merchants, traders, shipowners, whalers, and masters of vessels, that the P.»rtsof Her Brittanic Majesty's Islands of New Zealand are FREE and open to ships and vessels of every country' and clime. That all vessels may enter aud trade, or take refuge in our Ports and Harbours without being liable to Pilotage or Harbour dues. That every description of merchandise may be landed without Entry or Custom House fees. That no duties or charges .of any kind or nature will be required. That ships and vessels may depart at any time without clearance. That refreshments of every description; can be obtained from the natives at cheap rate. That the Europeans are prepared to sell the most fertile land?, supe. rior houses, spars, sawn timber, and the most beautiful cabinet wood. Also Copper, Manganese, Sulphur, gifenTalc, Gum, Resin, Whale Oil and Whale bone, Flax Cordage, Wheat, Maize, Potatoes, Hams, Bacon, Pork, *Coals, Tanning Bark, and Sharks Fins. All sorts of Merchandise bought if terms liberal.
