NATIVE INSTRUCTION.
We were agreeably surprised on Friday last, on visiting the Mechanic's Institute, to witness the pains taken byMessrs. Forsaith and Vale, to instruct a number of Youths (Aborigines) in the various rudiments of an English education. The lads, we understand, are very apt and anxious to become conversant with our language, and we believe the gentlemen above named have not laboured in vain, as the boys have made rapid progress. We hope that many others will follow the example of the above gentlemen.
