Wheeeas by an Ordinance enacted by tb® Governor of New Zealand with the advice and consent ef 4e legislative Council thereof) Session 2 No, 1:2, intituled "* An Ordinance for regulating ! ttbe Safe ©f Fermented and Spiritaeas Liquors,” it ! & enacted that for the district, the Police Magis- i being ©*e, to grwnl licewses otherwise than at the time and in tbe mumer aa the said Ordinance provided. 1. Be it farther enacted by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand with the advice and consent ®f tii* Legistenive Council thereof, that such Licenses *ha!il not be granted at any time beyond the expiiratiiea ©f #«,* after the arrival of the first Police Magistrate appointed to reside at such new Settlement. .Heuses is the interior hmo to' hr licensed. ■®» Awd whereas the establishment of licensed House* in the interior of the Country as well as on the sea coast, weald promote the convenience of the Efohc.. and won Id greatly facilitate communication t ween tbe various settlements, and as tbe terms and eondiilnoitts ©e wluct> the same should be licensed, xnay best be determined by tbe Governor io Coonci*. !
