Mr, Buckingham’s benefit came off on Monday evening last, under the patronage of the Society of Odd Fellows; and we were glad to see that the public begin to appreciate the efforts he has made to establish, and preserve respectable, a rational source of amusement, by giving him a bumper. The pieces selected for the evening’s entertainment, were the Gambler’s Fate, and Like Master like Man; the characters were sustained by the professionals with their usual ability, and the great improvement in the performance of the amateurs was universally admitted.
