[TE MAINJA.] The Maori Chief to the gaol is gone, Where the three once lay you’ll find hira ; JNo letters vile they have girded on, That he may no't lag behind them— V hat a fuss ” —said the Hero in ward, “ Though judges and juries tr y now • 'And sentence ns to labour hard, * Their talk is all i’ my eye now.” The Maori sccff d, —but Maclewain C° l, ;d not keep his proud sent order; J he wicket closed, soon oped again, And his exit made him wonder ; He said, “ No Maori cares for thee, for P ri gg» n g caps or toggery ; " Obr §ike can pardon all,—’tis he r Relies ou our !utt'grily. ,,
