This Exhibition of Flowers, Fioits, and Vrge. tables, took place at Wood’s Royal Hotel, on Tuesday •be 26<h instant. They were generally of excellent description, both in size and quality, and reflect tnnth credit on these gentlemen, who by tlieir example excite a laudable emulation amongst the growers of these indispensible rentiisites of the table. B jfore closing these remarks we should act with very great injustice to Mr. Lyncb the government gardener, did we not notice the Fruit produoed by this gentleman, it cprtainiy was far superior Jto any we have seen in New South Wales. A highly respectable company satdown|toa aumptlous dinner, provided by Mr. Wood, Dr. Johnson was called to the chair, and Mr. Church vicevpresident, when the following toasts were given by tbe President, Dr. Johnson, — *Tbe Queen, Prince Albert, and Royal Family.’ • Governor Fitzroy,’ This was the toast of the eveaing, which was responded to by Dr. Sinclair id a seat and appropriate speech, which elicited thun» ders of appiuase by all the company. “ Army and Navy,” .* Agricultural Society/ Dr. Johnson resppnded. 1 Mrs. Finroj, and the Ladies of Auckland,’ was the next toast, which •eemed to give every one present general satisfaction, drank with niua limes nine, Mr. Church tesponded.
