The ly proved against these vile boys, the Police Magistrate sentenced eaob of them to receive one months confinement and Laid labour. • [ln the above case we have no doubt the Police Magistrate acted with the stiictest justice, bat what does these boys care Rhout impii-oninent in our wooden building cilled a gaol 7 and as for the hard labour they have to perfonn, when so con6ritd in cur icaol, it is a mere farce. Let any persub just look at them when at work (?) on the road in Queen-street, and they will be of the same opinion with us, that those scamps merely consider, their work a source of amusement, but we must say, iu justice lo the persons in whose charge theyare, that whilst uneer sentence there is little favour shewn them, but we do complain, and not without , that the Government do not provide cells &co. w: .voung deic uld be treated in a manner their shameful conduct merit. —Ed.
