(From the '* Allot*' September 2.) Narrow of Lopis Philuppe and The Royal Family.— On Monday last Louis Phillip and the Royal Family had tbe narrowest escape from destruction. The Kiog, tbe Queen, the Count of Peri*, the Prin e and the Prince** of Joiortlle, the Duke d Aumale, end, in fact, all the members of the Royal Family, took one of toeir usual drive* iu the neighbourhood of the Chateau d’Eu. The carriage was drawn by. four very spirited horse*. Tbe party, it appears, in the oourse of their drive, had to pass through Treport, a small fiahiog villiage situated about two miles from the Ville d’Eu. and It happening to be the first time the Count of Paris visited (hit place, ihe loyel inhabitants considering it their duty to do their future Sovereign especial honour and accordingly saluted his Royal Highness with nftu dtjo'ie. The gun* were fired just as the carnage was approaching, and tin boraea, startled by the noise, commenced plunging furiously. The postilions lost all command of ihem, and they darted forward towards the bridge over the Bresle, the p«rapet of which the leader* cleared eta bound. The third horse wes dragged after its companions, -nd f»r e moment the destruction of the whole patty sensed inevitable ; hut tortunately the postilion was enabled to acquire some command over the fourth horse, and he did not follow. Assistance »ns happily at hand, and the whole party were released Irom their perilous position ; not, however, before the traces had been cut, and Ihe horses left t > their fate. The three bories, of couise,feil into the stream below, and were injured, but both the postilions escap«d. The Queen w«» much affected and wept bitterly alter the danger was over. Tbe King himself acted with great presenoe of mind. He held th* young Count of Paris in hi* arms, and related to leave the carnage till every member of his family was placed in safety on terra firma.
