The Uniters gives, in a recent number, the foU lowing extract froip a letter from Rome, dated Feb 25:—"You ask me for the details of the miraele which lately took place iu China; lean guarantee the authenticity of the following, which have been received from the Apostolical Vicars:—Our Saviour appeared in the heavens on the oross, in one of the provinces of the empire, at several plaoe, at the same time, before a great number of bclievs ers. The apparition cast out a bright glow of light. It remained two hours, and was repeated two succeqdine days. Letters from Tonquin an. nonneed the persecutions. The sovereign of the cooutry declares himself in favor of tbe Christians, and has imprisoned (be minister who was opposed to them. New Missionaries have been written for, the harvest being great, and the laborers bat few. Other facta, have, been mentioned, but 1 confine myself to the foregoing. Re-Building of Hamburgh.—The anniversary of the lamented fire has just passed, and although the site still presents ranch of that wretchedness consequent on the very great destruction of property, yet much more has been done in removing the ruins and old materials than might bnve been expected. New and bold lines of streets ar&aow.set out. The paving is commenced, and the new buildings in several parts are being rapidly prepared to receive their roofs, aud will probably, towards tlie-close of the ensuing summer, be fit for •habitation. Tbe government of the city Las, within a few days, determined on constructing a new and improved, means of sewerage in that part of the town to he rebuilt, and has voted .£70,000 for that purpose, intending that the whole works shall be completed in about eighteen months. It is also proposed to erect gas works for the city, which will be thrown open to the competition or capitalists, under certain conditions. - A Letter from Santander, of the 23rd oil., imerted in the Heraldo., states, that intelligence had been brought by tbe frigate JLa Fe that tbe Haytian Government bad declared war agaiust Spain, inconsequence of tbe itlegal detention, at Porto Rico, of a vessel .belonging to the biaok republic-;
