Private Saty. 21 July /60 My dear Sir, As it is blowing rather too hard for the Emu I send your letters and papers by a special messenger overland - Rogan wishes me to say that Mr. George Graham through his son, says that the natives of Ihumata are busily engaged making ball cartridges, and in conjunction with the natives of Mangere and Pukaka have been requested to proceed to Waikato -- it is also stated that the natives have lost in the Government, having been informed that reinforcements have been applied for from England for the purpose of smothering nga tangata. Rogan gives this as a report, at the same time Mr. Graham's son purposes calling upon Mr. Richmond next Monday to report what he has seen and hears. The Court supplies are on board the Emu and will be forwarded when the weather permits. Faithfully yours, H. Halse
