[At top] 'Manahi' Ngamotu 7 October 1850 Friend, McLean, I am still staying where you left me, at the place you were living. Well, I have nothing to say to the Pakeha[?], I'm living well together with my Pakeha on our land. Let there be troubles elsewhere, but I, I don't like people's wrongdoing. Friend, [I] don't know about Pita and Waireka, Te Waka is not still arguing over that statement. And Patara did not know about what you said, and it would not be right that I simply lied about it. Friend, McLean, Rawiri's behaviour is just fine, quite good, very good; Rawiri still likes the Pakeha. That's all.
