[Written on margin] 1848 Hoera and Manahi Land at Ngamotu March 14 1848 Poharama Friendly letter 1848 To McLean, March 14 Friend McLean, you are to agree to the conditions of our discussion which you had already agreed to me. To Poharama for this land to be for the Maori people, then afterward you wanted it for yourself. This is why I am insisting that you agree to put this part right, then you would be allowed to make arrangements for all the lands, if you do the wrong thing no land will be given to you. Do not deny your agreement with us. We all know of your word of agreement, that you would give this land for the Maori people.
