Then he, Te Rangihaeata, said his letter had gone to Te Heuheu. And Kingi Hori said to him, 'Friend, that was wrong.' Te Rangihaeata said, 'That Pakeha was good to you and your grandchild.' And I said to him, 'I have not yet seen any evil from the Pakeha.' He said, 'Soon [perhaps we will see] with the size of the payment for your land.' And I said, 'Yes, soon the size [will tell].' Well, we argued, and he said, 'Friend, when you know the outcome, that will tell.' From Kawana Hakeke
