Waihinga 5 October 1853 To McLean Sir, There is another piece of land that we will give to you, that is, land that has been carefully and peacefully discussed amongst us, the Maori, and for each person to give you his part. These are the boundaries of the land we give you: From the river mouth of Wakatamahine, then along the large stream of Wainuioru, which is a major boundary for the Maori of Wainuioru. The boundary begins at Te Koutu, then runs out to Te Hiwera and continues on to Te Pahuri, Te Purangiora, Rakaipaka, Te Kahikaopurehua, Haukorari, and right out to Te Karereamotuwarangi[?]; then continuing on to Te Wareowehi and to Te Ikaotewaiho, and as far as Te Kanawa, it runs along the river at Waipapa and out to Te Rangitamiao, then continues on to Tuhimata, Te Rerearakairaumoa and Te Ponatewakamu, coming out at Makahakaha, and then running on to Te Waitapu and Takapauhaka, it then runs along the ridge at
