Wellington 10th. August 1872 My dear Mr. McLean, I have telegraphed to-day to Mr. Lyndon, Informing him that the Registrar has appointed Friday next to tax the country as between the Trustees of Hapuka's Estate and Hunt and Buckley, suggesting that the matter be left to the Registrar in order to avoid further expense to the Estate. It is necessary that they should be taxed for the protection of the Trustees. I write to you in order to apprize you of the fact because it is possible that Mr. Lyndon may apply to you for instructions. Moreover, I do not want your name nor that of Mr. Ormond to appear in any way connected with the business. Faithfully yours, (Signed) PA Buckley. To:- The Hon. D. McLean.
