My dear Susan I was much pleased to receive both your last letters. One of them came to hand at Turanga 200 miles from here and the last of the 7 I got here on my return and also found Mr Park and Pelichet waiting for me so that you conceive I have had but little spare time for writing of late. Moreover you must not suppose if a vessel should go in from the East Coast that you should receive a letter by it. For instance if you will look at the map you will at once see how widely extended the East Coast is and that although I move about a good deal I am not ubiquitous.
