My dear McLean, I think I am a little better today but it would be very imprudent of me to stir out. Would you mind therefore apologising for my absence and reading on my behalf the Ministerial statement, which I have sent to Pollen. If there is any objection to your reading it you might excuse me on account of illness and say I will make statement tomorrow. There are reasons which I can explain better to you verbally why the statement should come direct from me. Especially amongst others I want to express regret at the loss of Hall and Waterhouse.
