Tapuaehararu January 29, 1869 My dear Sir, My natives having written telling me that Col. Lambert had arrived at Taupo I rode over to see him and gave him all the information that I could on the state of affairs here, he of course will tell you everything but I may say that there is no danger whatever of any disturbance - I wrote to you about being fired over Hohepa. He of course has made the most of it so that he may get arms etc. I only recd. the letter from your secretary yesterday telling me that a trooper would be sent up monthly. I need not say that no trooper has ever arrived. John St. George. His Honor D. McLean Esqre.
