Dear Maclean, I am frightened of adjourning that Court to Maketu. The Arawa would quarrel there. I enclose you a letter just received from Mr. Smith. We must break the neck of those Arawa claims now or never. I think that after one or two decisions things will go somoothly and the removal you desire may take place. I held the previous court and am well aware of the fire and brimstone upon which one is sitting. I will see you on Monday about this matter. Yours sincerely, - Burton.
