Mokau, June 10, /51. Dear Sir, At Takerei's request I beg to inform you that the Natives are very anxious to see you here. They almost dispair of your return. A letter from you will be acceptable to them. We have had a great deal of sickness among the people and more deaths than any previous year. They are willing, says T., to sell as far inland as to Ruakaka - poor fellow, he has lost the sight of one of his eyes and I fear may lose that of the other also.
