Napier May 4/66 My dear McLean The bearer Matenga of Poverty Bay has just called on me and says he owns the land that my Brother bought some time ago and from what I can understand is willing to give some land if he can rent a large piece of sheep country as well which he says never was hau hau - As I understand very little Maorie will you kindly ascertain all he wishes and would do in this matter as I want a run at Poverty some time and this may be good and cheap or the reverse for any thing I know personally.
