I enclose Requisition for your signature, leaving the quantity in pencil for your approval. It is a long time since your office sent in any claims, and I have managed during your absence as best I could. Bills for firewood and oil are to be made out quarterly, for the future; and I now send, by Captain King's direction, Peter Huti's account for oil, likewise Pern's, for necessary repairs to clock, and shelves for the protection of arms and accoutrements in use, for your signature. Peter Hawkins frequently speaks about an account of his, for native supplies, which was forwarded with other accounts of the Native Department, on a former occasion. (Signed) H. Halse.
