To find the dates on which the Militia in the several district have been called out, and relieved, will entail a search through all the Books and Records of the Department for each separate place; but in a general way I may state that as far as my memory serves me, the Militia at Auckland, Taranaki, Wanganui and Wellington were called out for actual service in 1860. I am not sure about Napier. They were subsequently relieved until 1863, when they were again called out, and afterwards relieved. Some time since I commenced to keep a Book in which all such matters have been posted up from time to time; and from it, I give the following extracts
