G.Worgan Esqre., Wairoa Napier 5th March, 1869 Dear Sir, Mr.McLean is very busy and has asked me to acknowledge your letter of 3rd Instant he is very much obliged for the information you have forwarded which is corroborative of a great deal which Mr.McLean has obtained from different sources. Mr.McLean considers your suggestion that the prisoners should be taken charge of by Ihaka Whanga worthy of consideration. It would certainly be a great boon to the country if Te Waru could be caught, no peace can be expected at the Wairoa till that is accomplished. (Drafted for McLean's signature).
