Napier 28th July 1866 My dear McLean, I yesterday received a letter from a young Gent. who is now surveying the Manawatu Country. He is the young man I spoke to you about some time ago. In his letter he tells me that a number of the Runholders in that quarter whose land is to be sold in small portions are on the out look for stations in the neighbourhood or in the direction of Taupo. I have shown the letter I received to your Brother and also my own and they have requested me to write you and let you know this as you might see some of the Patea Natives in Wellington. All your friends in this quarter are well I remain, Yours very truly, Hugh Duff D, McLean Esq. WELLINGTON.
