being made for it General Cameron authorized the sending of a detachment to Waipaoamate provided that the difference of the expence of having a detachment there instead of Napier should be borne by the Colonial and not. by the Imperial Govt. The province has paid the above sum for carriage extra allowances called field allowance, and all other expences incident to the maintainance of the detachment in excess of the Imperial pay and rations.
