Napier. 8th. August 1872. My dear McLean, I wrote to you a day or two ago, and forgot to say that at our annual meeting of Clive Road Board last month, 29th. August, we elected Kaialtiana one of the five Wardens of such Board. I have thought some time past that it was only right and just, that natives, when large owners within a District, should be on the Road Board. This, I trust, will please him.
