Wednesday morning (no date)/11/68 Dear Sir, I forward the enclosed letters from Turanga, I fear there is no doubt of the death of Biggs and Wilson being true. The steamer sailed about half an hour before the news arrived. The postman tried to bring her back, by signalling her, but without success. I fear there has been a general massacre over the Bay. Westrup is reported to be making his way through the Bush to the Mahia, with the women and children. Major Lambert is also writing by this occasion. I am, dear Sir, faithfully yours (Signed) S. Deighton.
