Apr 61 My dear McLean, I know you are busy but I shall be glad if you can spare a little time to advocate my views about an Hospital for the natives here, it becomes a very serious question as to whether we shall preserve the Rarawa very long they have been so quiet and well disposed that I think we owe them a little. Do you think you will be able to do anything for us in the travelling allowance. I hope you will get me forage for a horse. If you ever think of it will you send the authorities asked for in my letters March 8 No. 11 March 25 I had a note from Fenton senior who talks as if he would like to see the R. M. office seperated from Circut Magistrate to provide his brother a regular snob who has lately insulted me very grossly I hope you will exercise your influence to prevent this division of office merely to provide for a relation without reference to the necessity for it or the desirability of the mere relative, poor John Bull has so many relatives. However though it would relieve me of a great deal of work it would be such an imposition upon the country that it ought to be resisted. With kind regards believe me my dear McLean, Yours very truly, H. B. White Mongonui April 1/61
