Sir, I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of a letter addressed by Mr. McLean to yourself, relative to the Interior boundary line of the Rangitikei purchase; and which, by order of His Excellency the Lieut. Governor, has been referred to me. The importance of defining the internal boundary I think is very great; as any doubt about its position may lead to serious interference with the settlers, by the natives.
