30 December 1859 Maraekakaho My dear Donald I have great pleasure in writing you a few lines in hopes you may get them at Canterbury. I found when Alex returned you only received one letter from me since you left and I wrote you no less than 4, one of them I sent by Munn when he was up here before he went to Wellington. It is very strange what can come over letters however I trust in God your health and strength is now restored to you and that you will soon be as active as ever. I was greatly concerned
