Auckland 3rd May /66 Ekara, e te Makarini How do you do. I suppose you will not know this writing again. I have a long case of grievance which I cannot put in writing against several people and I am pretty well tired of everything. However we'll let that pass I am delighted to hear Wirth's account of you and your doings. The people at Mount Albert jumped with delight when you were returned for Napier. Get into the Ministry if only for a day and then retire if it suits you. Old Keene says I am to send you £100 he does not understand paying bank expenses end I dont believe in sending you a check. Have you an account at the bank in Auckland or how am I to do with the money The Amount is perfectly safe I have some money of his - If you are in want of it let me know at once. I dont expect a letter because I dont deserve it - Yours ever J. Rogan D. McLean Esqre. etc.
