July 1850. Sir, I have the honor to acquaint you, for the information of His Excellency, the Lieut. Governor, that I intend returning to-morrow to Whanganui; thence it will be necessary for are to proceed up the river about 100 miles to Puke Hika, where some natives are residing, that have investigated Pohe's recent proceedings at Rangitikei, as reported in my letter
