My dear McLean, I saw Purchas this morning - there will be nothing gained by having him examined - he can only speak of what he has heard Tamati say - and I do not know whether his views are the same as ours - Buddie was from home but will be here this afternoon - I have sent a special messenger over to Mangere with a letter to Tamati asking him to come over which I hope he will do to-day as I do not want to be delayed in the morning - I shall be in town early - probably by the van. Sincerely yours, Thos. H. Smith. October 1st. 1860.
