Dear Sir I should feel obliged if Grindell and I think some one else but I dont know yet could be told in some way not to tell Natives going from this district that I have nothing to do with the purchases here that I am only there to survey and anything else I may do is wrong, that connected with the dishonouring the order has done me much injury here, If Mr. Grindell wishes also to write letters to natives here hinting that I trust he will do so with caution for the Native know what he is driving at and laugh at it, I have been told that the Natives here wrote about some of these offers of sales for the paper - I remain, Dear Sir Your Ot. St. S. Locke D. McLean Esq.
