11th. July 1857. Dear Hamilton, Will you kindly have the goodness to send me duplicate receipt for the sum of Six Pounds I furnished to you in the early part of December last for Pouha, the Chief of Patea; as I am laying out of the advance till your receipt comes. Please send it up by bearer, and relieve yourself afterwards of the change by sending in an account current, and Pouha's receipts, to the "Audit Office." Yours faithfully (Signed) Donald McLean.
