Wellington 15th. March 1866. Dear McLean, Nothing very new here. I hope your land Court is working well. I suppose the first batch of Prisoners is located at the Chatham Islands by this time and the second soon likely to be. Haultain seems to have some work at Tauranga as I judge from the Auckland papers. If he were here I should try to run up to see Smith as I do not like to interfere with his progress in the N.L. Court but I am abroad about his District - every one seems to be away from it. and Tauranga. Yours very truly, A.H. Russell.
